The Process
How does the ordering process work?
Every order starts with a conversation. We discuss your project, your vision, and how the items will be used. From there we build custom quotes — no two orders are the same, so we don't do one-size-fits-all pricing. Once you approve the quote and the design, we collect full payment and get to work.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before I contact you?
Not at all. Bring us an idea, a napkin sketch, a competitor's shirt you like, or nothing at all. We're professionals — we'll ask the right questions and guide you through the whole thing.
Can I provide my own items to be printed or embroidered?
Yes, with conditions. We accept customer-provided items but we are not responsible for mistakes, damages, or misprints on items you supply. If you want peace of mind, let us source the garments — we have access to a wide range of brands, styles, and sizes.
Design & Artwork
Do you do design work in house?
Yes — everything is done in house. Graphic design, logo creation, embroidery digitizing, and artwork recreation. You never have to go somewhere else first.
I have a logo. Can you use it?
Yes. We can work with files you provide. If your artwork needs to be recreated or cleaned up for print or embroidery, there may be a charge depending on the complexity.
How many revisions do I get?
We make changes until the design is exactly what you want. We don't cap revisions — we want you happy with it before anything gets printed.
Can I make changes after I approve the design?
Changes are allowed right up until we print the transfers. Depending on the design package you chose, additional charges may apply after final approval.
Decoration Methods
What's the difference between DTF, sublimation, and embroidery? How do I know which one I need?
That's our job to figure out with you. Each method has strengths depending on the item, the design, and how the finished product will be used. We'll recommend the right method — you don't need to come in already knowing the answer.
Do you have minimums?
No. We do single items. Whether you need one shirt or a thousand, we can help.
Turnaround & Rush Orders
How long does a standard order take?
Standard turnaround is 10–14 business days from the point that payment is received, artwork is approved, garment availability is confirmed, and final quantities and sizes are submitted. Shipping time is not included in production estimates.
Do you offer rush options?
Yes. We offer three rush tiers:
Level 3 — 5–7 business days: +20% rush charge (minimum $25)
Level 2 — 3–4 business days: +40% rush charge (minimum $50)
Level 1 Emergency — 24–48 hours: +75% rush charge (minimum $100)
Rush pricing is quoted per order. Rush is not guaranteed until officially approved by Bright Designs — availability depends on current workload, garment availability, and production scheduling.
Do you run samples for large orders?
Yes. For bulk orders we run a sample before full production so you can approve the finished product before we print everything.
Pricing & Payment
Is there a setup fee or screen charge?
No setup fees. No screen charges. Because we use DTF and other modern print methods, you're not paying the traditional screen printing premiums.
Is there a design fee?
Design fees vary by project. Simple adjustments or using your existing artwork may have no charge. Original logo creation or complex design work is quoted separately and can run into the hundreds depending on scope.
When do I pay?
Full payment is collected upfront before we begin production. Since every order is custom made to order, we purchase your items and print your transfers specifically for you — they can't be reused or resold.
Shipping & Pickup
Do you ship?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Freight charges are the client's responsibility and are calculated at checkout or quoted with your order.
Can I pick up locally?
Yes — local pickup is always free.
Do you offer delivery?
Local delivery can be arranged for orders within 100 miles of St. Joseph, MO. Ask us about delivery when you request your quote.
Quality & Value
Why should I choose Bright Designs over ordering online?
Online, you're buying blind. No guarantee on fit, color accuracy, or print quality — and if something's wrong, you're stuck. With us, you see the design before it prints, you can come in and talk to a real person, and we've been doing this for nearly 20 years right here in St. Joseph.
Are you the cheapest option out there?
We're not the cheapest in the nation — but we are the best deal in town. We import our materials directly and handle everything in house, which means we cut out the middlemen that drive up prices elsewhere. You get professional, guaranteed results at a price that gives you more for your money than anywhere else locally.
